Hi, I’m Molly Coppel, Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) #3883. I may have helped you find answers to questions about educational testing or mental health support for your student. Or maybe you found me through Googling “Educational Testing.” Either way, I’m glad you found me.

After graduating from Whitney High School, I attended UC Santa Cruz, majoring in Psychology and working part-time as an academic tutor. During my time as a Research Assistant, I discovered the field of School Psychology and continued my education and training at Chapman University. While in my graduate program, I worked as a Behavior Therapist for an ABA company in Orange County, further providing me with experience working one-on-one with students with behavioral needs in various settings. For nine years I worked as a nationally certified School Psychologist/Behavior Specialist in the Bay Area at a high school district. I had a wide variety of responsibilities, some being conducting psychoeducational evaluations for both the public and private school setting, providing direct individual and group school-based counseling services, developing a Patterns of Strengths and Weaknesses process for district school psychologists, and specializing in manifestation determination assessments including leading district school psychologists through the process. Wanting to learn more, in 2018, I completed a certificate in School Neuropsychology (ABSNP) to enhance my knowledge and expertise in conducting educational evaluations, specifically in learning disabilities (i.e., dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia) and ADHD, and other brain based learning difficulties. Furthermore, upon obtaining my Licensed Educational Psychologist licensure in early 2019, I joined a medical private practice to conduct school neuropsychological evaluations. In the summer of 2021, my family and I decided to return to Southern California where I continue my work as a School Psychologist in a local school district as well as having a part-time LEP private practice.

My favorite part of being an LEP is uncovering student’s learning strengths and weaknesses to answer questions and provide useful solutions to help them thrive in their educational environment. I hope to connect with you soon.
